Changemakers Summit 2022

SJC participated in the UnidosUS Changemakers Summit from March 25-30, 2022, where our team met with legislators, community leaders, partners, and decision-makers to push for long-awaited positive changes for immigrant communities in California.

As a UnidosUS affiliate, SJC joined advocates from across the country to advance policy priorities including immigration reform, access to legal services, and protections for immigrant families.

The summit provided an opportunity to share SJC's model of comprehensive legal services, combining deportation defense, pro bono partnerships, and behavioral health support, as a blueprint for expanding access to justice nationwide.

Key outcomes from SJC's participation included new partnerships with other legal aid organizations, connections with potential funders, and increased visibility for the unique challenges facing immigrant communities in Northern California.
